New Volunteer Orientation
Saturday, February 16th at 1 p.m. sharp For any one who wants to start volunteering, get an introduction to the shop and its every day workings. Youth Days Cancelled Due to lack of attendence, Fridays are no longer youth days. Anyone under the age of 18 is welcome in the shop with a responsible adult during any other open hours. Sorry kids. Get involved- 12/13/2007 If anyone has considered getting involved with Plan B, now is the time. We are about to undergo restructuring and are looking for new volunteers and input. If you are interested, please attend next month's meeting, Monday January 7th at 6 pm. Don't forget, the shop will be closed that day for a workday. From 2-6 pm we will clean and reorganize the shop. Help is always welcome but the shop will not be open for bike repairs. Email us with any questions. There will be other meetings for new volunteers. What We Do Plan B is a community-run bike project that functions as an open workspace
for bicycle repair.
The workspace makes an array of professional bike tools available for
use to the public for free while volunteers offer free help in bike
repair. Why We Do ItThere are plenty of reasons to ride bikes, particularly as a primary form of transportation: affordability, low emissions, reduced urban congestion. We want more people riding bikes and believe that the knowledge and equipment necessary for maintaining one's own vehicle should be available in a community space.We are also strong believers in community-based education and the idea that people learn things from others in a variety of settings. We feel that operating a space where folks can share what they know and learn what they don't strengthens a sense of community.Finally, we think it's important to rescue useful bikes and parts from the trash and reuse them to counter the extreme wastefulness of industrialized nations. How You Can HelpVolunteer- Plan B is always happy to have volunteers. For more information please see our Volunteer page. Donations- Plan B vastly appreciates any bike, bike parts/tools, and monetary donations. To drop off bikes/parts please stop by Plan B during project hours or contact us. All donations are through pay pal and are for 1$ each - just change
the quanity to donate as much as you feel comfortable with. Contact

The bike shop makes parts available at low cost
or for small donations. All of the proceeds from parts sales
are used to keep the project running.
